About the Department

The department of Civil Engineering was established in 2009 and has the distinction of being the first among the other departments of the institute. The Department offers an undergraduate program with a student intake of 60. The faculties of the department have vast experience in teaching, of the industry, and research. Our strength is a reflection of their skills, innovation, and drive.

Keeping in view the current and continuously changing scenarios in this discipline, the department emphasizes fundamental theory and practices in Civil Engineering. Departmental activities include Planning, Designing, Construction, and Management. The departments have a state of the art laboratory with all the resources to facilitate the teaching-learning process through which the students gain theoretical as well as practical knowledge. It offers elective courses in the higher semester where students can opt for a desirous domain in the field of civil engineering.

The Department provides research and consultancy services to various public and private sector organizations. Our major clients are Naya Raipur Development Authority, L & T, NCC, and DEEVEE Projects.

  1. Dr. R.K. Mishra's received a grant of Rs 2,50,000/- for Collaborative research Project titled "Mechanolumenescence for crack detection in cementitious structure" under TEQIP III, CSVTU, Bhilai as a Principal Investigator.
  2. Prof. Vaibhav Deshpande received a grant of Rs.2,30,000/- for the Collaborative research Project "Assessment of Critical Ground water potential zones of kharun river basin integrated approach of geospatial techniques" under TEQIP III, CSVTU, Bhilai as a Principal Investigator.
  3. Prof. Vaibhav Deshpande received a grant of Rs.2,50,000/- for the Collaborative research Project "Improving urban flood hazard vulnerability assessment with gridded rainfall using MCDM approach" under TEQIP III, CSVTU, Bhilai as a Co-Principal Investigator.
  4. Prof. Deepmala Pandey got a grant of Rs. 1,80,000/- for a Collaborative research Project titled "Effect of properties on gio-polymer concrete with particle replacement of fine aggregate by crusher stone" under TEQIP III, CSVTU, Bhilai as a Principal Investigator.
  5. Dr. R.K. Mishra published a paper on "Mechanoluminescence: A Novel Method for Identification of Crack Initiation in Concrete Structures" in UKIERI Concrete Congress.
  6. Dr. R.K. Mishra completed his Project under C.G. Cost of Rs. 300000/- .

  1. Pratik Kathale is elected as student member in Innovation Cell under the MHRD Government of India.
  2. Md. Danish started a startup as a Co–Founder of a Gifting and Event Management Company named as Surprise Hours having Revenue of 1 million.
  3. Neeraj Gupta, Apurva Hardaha, Vikas Tarak and Sujit Pandey students of Civil Department batch 2015-19 got qualified in GATE 2019.
