Department of Civil Engineering celebrated engineers day program on 14th of September 2019 in fond memory of Bharat Ratna shri M. Visvesvaraya.On this auspicious day Civil engineering association of Civil Department also organized a Tree plantation programme. Students of 3rd and 5th semester planned for the event in which Shri M. Visvesvaraya Ji was remembered for his noble work, H.O.D Prof.V.Deshpande and Principal BIT, Raipur Dr.T.Ramarao worshipped the goddess saraswati and Visvesvaraya Ji at the start of the programme, which was followed by cake cutting ceremony. Cake cutting was followed by Tree plantation in which H.O.D and Principal initiated the plantation by planting a sapling each. After which other faculty members and students also joined the initiative and many plants were sown. Principal and H.O.D appreciated the students for their enthusisiam and guided them about importance of tree plantation.

Department of Civil engineering organized Power Point presentations for civil 3rd and 5th semester students on 21/08/2019 in 7th semester classroom during 6th and 7th activity lecture. The Aim of the activity was to create awareness among the students about new emerging technologies and construction techniques related to civil engineering. 3rd and 5th semester students presented their topics in a group of 4 students. Students gave presentations on the topics such as New water treatment methods, High rise building, modern bridges etc. During the activity students were told about how to develop spontaneity and confidence while speaking and overcome fear of speaking, The activity was conducted with due permission of HOD civil engineering department Prof.Vaibhav P.Deshpande. The activity was coordinated by Prof.Ankit Shinde and Prof.Deepmala Pandey.
Department of Civil engineering organized extempore and Group Discussion for civil 3rd and 5th semester respectively on 31/07/2019 in Material lab and 3rd semester classroom during 6th and 7th activity lecture. The purpose of the activity was to enhance the Communication and Public Speaking skills of the students and get them to understand and develop innovative ideas and enable them to speak confidently in front of a live audience. 3rd Semester Students were given a topic each and they were made to speak on that topic for at least 3 minutes. Similarly for 5th semester students topics for discussion was given to different groups. During the activity students were told about how to develop spontaneity and confidence while speaking and overcome fear of speaking, They also learnt about how effective communication functions in the modern world. This activity was thoroughly enjoyed and well received by the students. Activity was coordinated by prof.Tadi Praveen and Prof.Ankit Shinde.
An Industrial Visit was organized for Civil Engineering 3rd and 5th semester Students at Nava Raipur,Atal Nagar Site under the Construction Projects of Aarti infrastructures. Visit was organized with the prior permission and guidance of honorable Principal BITR and continuous effort of HOD Mr. Vaibhav Deshpande. Prof.Ankit Shinde, Prof Tadi Praveen, Prof. Deepanjali Sahu and Prof. Shaili Sarvaiya accompanied students to the site where CMD of the Aarti Infrastructiue MR.Sanjeev Tayal explained students about the different aspects of construction such as design, drawing, planning etc of the G+2 building. Students carefully studied and observed about the ongoing construction work and shared their queries with the experts present on the field. The students enjoyed the visit thoroughly and were very happy after getting the practical field Exposure.

After a thorough selection procedure and various rounds of interviews 7 students from various branches got selected in the core company. These students belong to EEE , Mechanical and ET& T branches. The package that they have been offered in the starting is over 2.3 lacs per annum.
